Welcome to my subway page
In my travels, I have ridden many subways in many
cities.

New York City
Token now replaced by the "metrocard"
Metrocard
lets you transfer to the bus for free!
Boston
It might cost you more than one token, depending on how far you go.
You can put in change, too. It's sort of like a bus on rails.
Philadelphia
Standard, one token, one ride.
Washington, D.C.
Also, known as "The Metro". The value is printed on the front. You
need to swipe the card on the way in and on the way out. The computer knows
how far you have traveled and deducts the correct amount from the card's
value.
Atlanta
Advertising on a token? Why not?
London
Known as "The Underground". Uses the same type of system as in
Washington.
Berlin
You buy a ticket from a vending machine. You pay an amount depending
on how far you go...
But, nobody takes your ticket! There's no machine to put it through!!!
It's called the honor system!
Munich
The subway in the capitol of Bavaria
Sydney
Monorail in Sydney, Australia
Melbourne
The street car in Melbourne, Australia
